I bought a "new" used lens that morning and took it out to test it. Spring 2002, from the Denfield side road bridge west of Hyde Park, Ontario. The 8638 is a GE AC4400CW, new in the fall of 2001. The unit behind it (854x) is the same model, though built in 1998.
