"A meet at Lobo siding"

Lobo siding is located on the Canadian Pacific just west of the Denfield side road bridge. As sidings go it is too short to accomodate a lot of today's longer trains so you do not see too many meets there. Every now and then, though, you get lucky...

This meet took place in October 2003. First, an eastbound general merchandise train advances to the east end of the siding and stops. A crewman climbs down and walks over to the switch itself.

A short time later a westbound intermodal approaches.

The crew of the eastbound inspects the intermodal as it rolls by.

Meanwhile, on the adjacent CN main line a Telus bedecked Via passenger train approaches (and if you look closely at the bridge that it is about to pass under you will see another railfan observing the show).

A rather smoky F40PH-2 pulls a rake of stainless steel Budd cars.

Across the way at Lobo siding the westbound has cleared, the crew of the eastbound has thrown the switch and climbed back aboard, and now the GE AC4400CW accelerates its train out of the siding and on towards London.
