"Andromeda Galaxy M31"

Messier 31 in Andromeda. On the original some of the dust lanes are just visible, as well as its two brightest satellite galaxies. Photographed in 1978.

Miranda dx-3, Vivitar 135mm F3.5 lens wide open, GAF Anscochrome 500 slide film; 15 minute exposure piggybacked on a friend's 16" cassegrain reflector telescope located just outside of London, Ontario. Scanned with an Epson Expression 4990 Photo scanner 28 years later.
