Personal

I'm Steven Sharpe. I was born in Toronto, Ontario and lived most of the first 36 years of my life down the '401 in London, until February 1993, when my wife and I moved to Maine. After fourteen years in the United States we moved back to Canada in May 2007, but this time to Nova Scotia. I now reside in an old farm house on the edge of the village of Ellershouse, about fifty kilometers from Halifax.

The focus and passions of my life are to be found mostly under a clear dark night sky or looking through the viewfinder of a camera.

I have many (too many?) interests which help to retain a semblance of sanity.

I am an avid amateur astronomer, and a member of the American Association of Variable Star Observers since 1974.

I am a model railroader and railfan.

I have been into photography for over 30 years.

I enjoy fantasy role playing games, and have run a Dungeons & Dragons campaign since 1979.

I have been writing for an even longer time.

As time and weather permit, I also try to get out cycling, hiking, gardening and enjoying fine dining with my wife.
