After another quiet night under the stars you are underway soon after dawn. The air is mild and calm, but as the day progresses high clouds roll in from the west and by nightfall it is overcast.
The road has been running a little north of east all day, and as evening sets in and you start to look for a place to camp for the night, you note that you are some miles south of a range of high hills. They are similar in appearance to the hills east of Adford atop which was the Su El ruin...but these appear to be somewhat higher. The tallest of the hills must be close to 6000' in altitude, you estimate.
"Them's the Signal Hills," says McTavish. "Named 'cause the Empire used to have forts atop them from where they'd send signals usin' fires out to the surrounding regions. There's a small town east of here along the road, too. We should reach it tomorrow mornin', I think. Angus an' I stayed at the inn when we came through here 30 years ago...I can replenish my stock of ale there...I hope."
