However, you are no sooner settled in than the voice speaks
again.
"We have arrived at your destination. You can leave when you are ready."
The doorway reappears again, and through it you see Occa's front yard.
Tully says, "You know, I really like this X class ship. Very nice all the way around."
He says to the ship, "Please do not allow anyone to enter you save for the three of us."
"Of course," says the voice. "You will have to say an administrative password to enter. Please choose a password."
He turns to Darian and Zanax. "Let's see what we can dig up."
He heads in and looks for the community chests.
Zanax departs the ship toward the mansion, wondering if the PBEM or MAIN chest will have better equipment for him.
Tully checks the bastard sword that spoke in a strange tongue to Trinity.
He picks it up. It speaks in a strange language to him as well.
He also checks the scimitar and sees if either of them seem to be finer weapons.
The bastard sword appears to be a good weapon of exceptional craftsmanship. He recognises the scimitar to be of old Saltarian manufacture and also of excellent quality. It is the type of weapon that would be given to a low ranking officer for performing some notable or heroic task. The power of its magic would probably increase the wielder's chance of striking an opponent by perhaps 5%.
He also takes the leather armor that is as good as leather and shield (pbem 6/26/1372).
Tully says, "Lots of potions and longswords."
He smiles.
The bard cannot understand what the sword is saying.
Tully says, "Do you guys want to see if anyone wants to trade or sell in town?"
Darian shrugs. "Sure, if you'd like. Be prepared to pay a fortune, though."
You head back upstairs and push your way through the crowds of arguing, talking and generally noisy adventurers and exit the mansion. Outside, a crowd of neighbourhood children are ogling at the X class scout.
You walk into the city, and soon find yourselves immersed in the crowds of merchants, travellers, townsfolk and farmers who crowd its streets.
Zanax heads toward Ray Jay's tower. The rest of you, along with the robot and Black-eye, trail along as well.
"Hello, gents," says Ming, after you knock at the door. "Still boldly going where no man - err - no one has gone before?"
Tully says, "Indeed, we are Ming. How are you? We are hoping to see Ray Jay if you don't mind."
"I can book you in for tomorrow morning."
Zanax nods, "That will be fine. Do you, by chance, have any magic items to trade or sell?"
"I am afraid not. Do you have any to sell?"
Tully says, "Perhaps. Do you speak many languages? Can you identify this one?"
He holds up the bastard sword and talks to it in order to get it talking.
The sword starts talking and Ming listens.
"I'd say that is Minotaur that it is speaking," he says after a moment. "It has a certain bovine quality. I don't understand the language, however."
Tully smiles and says, "Thank you!" He then says, "Well, let's come back tomorrow. In the meantime, I want to find someone who knows minotaur."
Zanax asks Ming, "How much to identify this magical plate mail and this longsword?"
"300gp would cover them."
