CHAOS - October 27, 1371

October 27th is another overcast day, with a light wind blowing out of the south. The temperature struggles up to 40F this afternoon. Most of the deciduous trees in the forest about you are leafless by now...however the majority of trees are now conifers and they remain green.

"Brother Orlon, where exactly are we going ?" Al asks as he enjoys the trip and reflects on the waves.

It is Vardui who replies.

"North for a another day or two, then east," he says. "Back into the mountains, where the giants are. The Land Of The Giants, that is. The group that I usually knock around with heard that they are getting restive again for the first time since Stiff, Yuri, Rockchin and company knocked off old King Snurre, 25 years ago. If that turns out to be a bust, then we can keep going east until we meet up with my friends, Leslie and Laurie. Anyway, there's lots of fun things to do."

"Stiff, sure, pleasant fellow, as long as you avoided getting in his way during combat. Throws a wicked lightning bolt." Al says with a grin as he recalls battle with the heroes of Dragon Mountain. "Giants, bah, evil creatures, the lot of them. On my world, near my home that was a chain of mountains that housed a tribe of hill giants. Scavangers.. thoughtless brutes that terrorized without compassion. A group of us armed ourselves and rode into the mountains, wiping out the foul monsters." Al recalls from his days on Faerun.

"Well, maybe you'll get to do it again in a week or two," says Vardui.

Bobbing his head slightly to the cadence of his horse, Al periodically pats his horse on the side of the head, saying, "what a marvelous day, Valor."

He named the horse since Orlon found him for Al.

The day passes quietly and you make good time, following the road as it parallels it's way up the coast along the seashore. You are heading roughly north-northeast. By the end of the day you have still not reached Eagle Cliff, so you camp again on another rocky beach on the Pacific.

Stiff pipes up for the first time in ages.

"Oh not again. I wake up from some trance where I am locked in a weird place with machines and paper, oh gods the paper, and work many, many, many hours to find myself on another adventure. Oh well, I guess it is chaotic enough for me."

Stiff looks round and thinks the party he is with seems quite capable, even respectable since Orlon is here. "Wow, what are we doing going for a walk with this much stuff?"

"Maybe we should pawn it all," grins Tracey. "How big is this Eagle Cliff place?"

"Not very big," says Vardui. "But I like the idea of pawning it all. It's nice and chaotic. Maybe we should just stand on a street corner and give it all away."

"Give it all away!" Orlon snorts. "If we are going to give it away, then we should give it to the church of Thor to show our appreciation of the help he has bestowed me over the years in helping us through our adventures."

"Of course, is it ours to give away?" asks Vardui. "Not that it matters."

"Brother Orlon, I would agree with giving it to the church of our Lord, but being that it isn't ours to give away, I think we could sell it, send the proceeds to its final destination and then continue on." Al suggests to the group.

"That is the lawful way of doing things, how gauche," Orlon snickers.

"Looks like he needs some training in the ways of Thor," smirks Vardui.

"Sorry, Brother Orlon, old habits die hard." Al says with a smile.

"Some of you I know well, others not so." says Stiff.

Stiff asks Vardui if he can do anything now to help the party.

Vardui shrugs.

"Not now, Stiffy, but if we go after giants I'm sure your presence will appreciated."
