Al heals as many as he can and pray for more healing as he is able.
Logan lays there and look pretty.
With the likes of Orlon, Tracy and Rodenstock pitching in, it takes three days to get everyone healed up.
There is still the matter of Logan's ring of weakness to deal with as well.
November 3rd dawns clear and cold. The temperature dropped to 17F overnight. Winter comes early in these latitudes.
Work has continued on the castle, and the place is alive with tradesmen from Demon's Neck as they repair the roofs, fix shutters, and generally make the place ready for the cold weather ahead.
Al wishes to finish work on the keep and dedicate it to a church/library to Thor.
"I'll go again," says Vardui. "That was fun!"
Stiff will continue with exploring the nexus if others are willing to go. It is necessary to send a few hefty types in as the monsters seem to be tough enough for the party that just went in.
In any case, Stiff relearns some spells, and get out the crystal ball he has to skry the area of the Will o wisps fight. He will try to skry into some of the areas beyond, or as much as poss.
The area where you had the battle remains deserted.
Scrying on the opposite side of the wall that he put up, Stiff sees a dimly lit tunnel running east for 10', after which it turns southeast. There is no sign of anymore 'wisps.
Scrying through the door on the other side of the bridge, he sees a chamber or passage, oriented east-west. It seems to be deserted.
Off to the east and west on either side of the bridge, passages run. However, when he tries to check these out, he is unable to form an image in the crystal ball.
While out, Stiff looks into getting supplies replenished.
You are able to purchase most mundane supplies in Demon's Neck. However, anything of a specialised, magic-user type nature is not available, here. There is a small time mage resident in the town, but he is only an evolker.
There are a number of temples in town, though. They are devoted to Tyr, Mielikki, Thor, Frigga and Untamo. The high priest of the temple of Thor comes to visit you once word gets around. His name is Ramden, and he is very pleased to learn that you are dedicating the castle to the glory of his patron.
Woody keeps an eye out for poor craftsmanship on any of the repairs to the keep.
Al can continue with the nexus if everyone else wishes...otherwise.. just Logan will go.
Logan wants his ring removed, preferably without the loss of a finger.
Can Tracy or Orlon cast a remove curse on him?
Orlon tries to cast remove curse on the ring, in hopes that he can remove it.
The ring seems to loosen up a bit on Logan's finger for a moment...but it still refuses to come off.
Stiff tells Logan that he is willing to cast a Wish spell to rid him of his cursed ring, but that it must be Logan that words the wish the way he wants it.
"Thank you Stiff!" Logan replies with a faint smile, as the pain from his latest experience is still evident from the grimace on his face.
Logan starts to think of the wording for a wish...
Logan says, "I wish that any curses or ill effects from anything that I carry or possess are lifted and removed from my body and soul." he says with a grin that such a well worded sentance came from his mouth.
Stiff recites the wish, and Logan's ring drops off his finger.
He feels strong again.
Stiff, at a time when not wandering around, casts a clairvoyance and thinks about the area that he last saw but could not form an image of.
The passage to the east of the door turns north and ends after 10'. Piled there is a large heap of treasure.
The passage to the west of the door also turns north and ends after 10'. There is nothing up here, though.
Also, before going back in Stiff talks to the Town mage about what he thinks of getting in supplies for Stiff in return for cash or ....
The magic user, whose name is Bargle, agrees to this readily.
"I am but a humble evolker," he says, "So my requirements are few. When I need components I write a letter to a mage friend down in the elf-lands to the south, and send it by ship from Eagle Nest. He fills my orders and then ships them north. I wish that I could get my goods from Ar'Razam, which is actually closer, but the roads east are becoming very dangerous, since the giants have grown more active. And, there is always Yeti Pass to worry about."
Stiff also (busy man all of a sudden) converses with Ramden, if possible about the former resident, to find what he might add to the knowledge base of the party.
"Ah, Borjous," says Ramden, when Stiff inquires. "He was a quiet man, never took much interest in the goings ons in Demon's Neck...never really became a part of the community. I do not know what he did in this old castle. He never let any of us local people in...always brought in outsiders to do his work. I suspect that he travelled a lot. There were times when this castle was in darkness for weeks at a time...then suddenly it would be alive with people. I believe that this was only one of several residences that he maintained. But he was an old man, and I guess after a time he died."
Al also wants to chat with Ramden to see what more can be done to make this a true ediface to Thor and what he can do to go about being a devout of Thor [cavalier and cleric].
"Well, for starters," the priest replies, "Get yourself a hammer."
