The EARTH story - February 1, 1372

To your slight relief, when you step out of the tent on the morning of February 1st, the sky is clear and the morning is sunny. A light breeze blows out of the southeast. Unfortunately it is still fairly cold, and the snow shows no sign of melting.

The morning passes slowly as you walk, ride and wade your along the snow-covered trail. Early in the afternoon you startle two deer, but they are gone before you can react with weapons or spells.

Shortly before sunset you arrive at an intersection.

Somewhere beneath the 38" of snow on the ground, three roads meet: the trail that you have followed down out of Yeti Pass, a Great Road running the length of this, Long Valley, and a second Great Road coming out of the west.

Sticking up out of the snow is a signpost...

The Long Valley Road: Northeast: To Dorvar, Radway Tower and Salford Orchold.
Southwest: To Balthazar, Arbaz Ford and Skilii.

The Devil's Road: West: To Dead Man's Pass, Dortleburg and Demon's Neck.

East: To Yeti Pass.

"Dorvar and Skilii are deserted cities. Dortleburg is an abandoned town," says Jo-owrn. "Salford Orchold is a border post of Urguth."

"Demon's Neck is a town," adds Laurie, "I was born there, in fact."

"Let's camp here for the night," says Jo-owrn. "In the morning we make tracks down the Devil's Road."

Raz smiles.

"Sounds good to me."

"Well that sounds like a feasible plan to me, besides the horses could use a rest," says Britan.

After settling in and before the sun goes down, Aldarin states, "Since we saw some deer earlier I may take a little tromp and see if I can scare up some fresh food."

He then heads out with his bow in hand, returning an hour later empty handed.
