This evening, while Raz is drinking alone in the common room of the Holiday Inn, who should walk in but Bel...clutching someone's femur.
Raz smiles bows to the overweight Druid...."Hello Bel...nice to see you!"
Bel grins and says, "I believe this is yours my friend, mind telling me how it and the majority of your bones were left on the road? Oh, yeah here is some stuff of yours." With that Bel hands Raz the femur and his dice.
Raz grins..."Hummm....thanks are in order I guess." Raz takes both items and places them into his backback. "Well, I'm not really sure what happened Bel...we were trying to help this fella with a broken wagon wheel and the next thing we know he turns into a tiger-man thing and is attacking us. I unloaded a boat-load of magic missles at him to no avail and was blasted into oblivion by his return fire of magic missles. Next thing I knew I was awake on a temple alter with Illyana and Britan looking at me. Oh...and Kelar and Aldarian are okay..they are currently resting upstairs. Why don't you come over to the bar here and we can talk further....BarKeep get some ale for my friend here!"
Bel frowns and says, "Did you gather all your stuff/body parts together and drag them a good piece off the road? I found everything in a well organized pile and a companion said he smelled something vaguely cat-like. I watched for a day but nothing came back. Also, where is his Paladinship, I noticed the group split up and some are not here. Where is Illyana, I would like to talk to her."
Raz seats himself back on a stool and says, 'Illyana is upstairs right now I think. Before you go I'd like to talk to you a moment however. I know that Farad has offended you deeply...his actions have offended all of us...but I would like you to think of the group as a whole rather then just yourself. While you might like just stay away from Farad, you also must remember that you have an obligation to this group. You are the only one in this small party that possesess the skills of a druid. The fact is, no matter what your opinion is of Farad, we need you. I would ask you to put your own pride aside for the good of the group and stay with us Bel. Without you we may indeed parish. You are necessary to us....and if we all died because of your actions or inactions our deaths would be on your head."
Bel shakes his head and says, "No, I cannot associate with Farad unless he repents and he refuses to do so. He killed an unarmed woman, tied up, out of combat that he had promised, in the groups and therefor my name, a trial in front of Yuri. If I stayed, he would have to be put on trial and this is a mortal offense. In a fair trial he would be sentenced to death. This is not a matter of pride but of honor. I have no choice, even though Hilary was annoying enough that even I wanted to kill her. If you break once, you can never go back to true honor. There is always a doubt. I will try to aid from a distance but cannot directly act with Farad."
Raz's eyes seem to glaze over icely. He turns away from Bel and stares into his ale. "Very well then Bel. Illyana is upstairs.", he says. There is a note of finality in his voice.
Bel says, "I can only warn you that Farad and his "vision" will very likely be the death of one or more in the party and you should be very wary. You all must make your choices of how, where and who you go with. I wish it was not so but our paths are not destined to continue together. I wish you well." With that Bel goes upstairs in search of Illyana.
Bel heads up stairs and knocks at the door that Raz directed him to.
Illyana opens it after a moment.
Bel says, "Hello Illyana, I found Raz's bones in the woods and tracked you down to see what happened. I also gathered some of the parties materials and stashed them in the woods near the site. If you wish any of those I will give you directions to the spot. raz has told me what occured and I met no Tiger-man there but something was stalking the area. I was unable to find it though. I came to give you the same warning i gave Raz, be very careful. I am the only one who was closely watching Farad, his vision of life is very dangerous for those around him. Do not let yourselves be driven to harm by his desires."
Bel awaits an answer.
Illyana sighs. "I was able to save Raz, but as for the rest of the stuff I don't consider it totally unreplaceable.. at least to the point where it would be worth it to head back there. As to Farad, I know quite well how dangerous he can be. There isn't much I can do in that regard, only wait until he does something. I can't tell you what to do, but I appreciate your sticking around. The other group hasn't arrived yet, I don't know when they will be here."
Bel says, "I cannot associate with Farad but will be near the party and will help as I can. I will leave now as I do not wish the rest of the party to know I am here. It will cause undo friction and make the situation worse.."
Bel gives Illyana directions to his cache of stuff and hand over anything he has of the group's to her. Bel says, "Good luck and be very careful, something is not right. Tigermen/creatures of that level do not just pop out of the woods for no reason."
"Very well. I do agree, creatures like that don't just pop out of nowhere."
