July 12, 1371

Finally, July 12th dawns dry and relatively calm. The ferryman comes over and transports you across to Adford.

You pay him a gold piece and make for the warmth of the Riverside Inn for a late, hot breakfast.

Humphrey speaks.

"It is good to be back in civilization with a bed to sleep in and a hot meal to wake up to. Do you think that this town big enought to sale our stuff?"

Adford is only a small place, and it only takes a few minutes to note that it has the following businesses: a carpenter, a leather worker, a tanner, a limner, a weaver, a blacksmith, a temple of Mielikki, a temple of Sif and the Riverside Inn.

"How long do you want to stay here?" asks McTavish, ordering breakfast. It is midmorning. "We could put a few miles behind us if we don't tarry."

Humphrey heads towards the owner of the Riverside Inn.

"Barkeep, where can I go to get my clothes washed?"

"I can take them," says the innkeeper.

Humphrey to the barkeep: "Let me see how long we are staying. McTavish, how long until we get to the next town?"

McTavish thinks about this.

"Don't rightly remember," he replies at last. "North of here the Road heads into wilderness proper. Derextar is a ruin...and over the River is forest and more forest. We may not hit another settlement until we reach Nolthen."

McTavish shudders.

"Let's get going, but first I want to pick up some supplies." says Illyana.

Illyana spends 5gp and buys her cooking spices from the innkeeper.

You are also able to reprovision yourselves from the inn as well, if you wish.

It is late morning by the time you remount your steeds and go riding out of Adford. It is an overcast but warm day.

The Great Western Road runs a little north of east as it exits the Duchy. It parallels the Canabar River a quarter mile to the right. The ancient cobblestones of the road are worn and dirt covered. The Canabar Forest is old, consisting of oaks, elms and maples for the most part.

After an uneventful afternoon trek, you make camp by the river for the night.

Illyana frowns. "I don't suppose someone would care to hunt down something so I could cook it? I do have a bow, but I'm not exactly the silent type."

McTavish goes out for a hunt...but returns emptyhanded.

You dine on rations...again...

Looking about, you notice that Raz is off by himself again on the edge of camp...boiling liquids and playing with fire...doing god knows what...
