The EARTH story - August 19, 1372

August 19th is another bitter cold day. As morning progresses the clouds roll back in, and by noon a very light snow is falling again. You set out, following a frozen stream northwards which flows down out of the mountains behind you, but after two hours you come to a road which runs east - west. You turn west onto it, and your pace picks up a bit, even though the snow still lies thick here. The hike is quiet, though at one point you see a black bear moving away from you through the woods.
