The EARTH story - August 25, 1372

By August 25th you have reached the western extremity of the Northern Flank Range, and Long Valley lies before you. The road that you have followed these past days has turned south, which is not the direction that you want to travel. As evening approaches you come to a small river that has flowed down out of the mountains. There is a ford where the road crosses it, but here Jo-owrn halts.

"I want to follow this river," he says, pointing downstream, to the northwest. "It is a tributary of the Baska River, and the Long Valley Road runs close by it."

He leads you off into the forest, and you follow.
