The EARTH story - September 2, 1372

September 2nd is overcast. The temperature rises into the mid-thirties by afternoon, and later on there is a thunderstorm. The Long Valley Road is running almost dead north at this point, and at times runs right beside the meandering Baska River. The land is still covered by stunted but dense coniferous forest, but above the treetops, some miles off to the northwest, you see the ramparts of a range of snowclad mountains.

"The Moga Thor," Jo-owrn says, pointing, "The Mountains of Thor. I think our goal lies somewhere in that range."
