October 14, 1371

Two weeks pass.

The weather in Sandas has remained warm but mostly cloudy, with the occasional day of rain. The morning of October 14th is likewise overcast and mild, as you gather in a private room at the Guild of Magic Users. Ayazin, Sharone, Aldarin, Britan and Humphrey have all trained up one level.

Farad enters, carrying a large sack.

Note that Banquo is not with you.

" Greetings, Farad " Sharone flashes him a smile. " Perhaps now that we are all together we can discuss what the magic-users have been able to find out about the various unclaimed items we have."

She sits quietly awaiting the responses......

Britan looks at Farad and says " Hello I see you come bearing gifts, so did anyone find out anything about this stuff, and what do want to sell if anything?"

"Yes, and more importantly, can we afford to stay here and train again? I am loath to serve myself by training if we are needed elsewhere." says Ayazin.

"You can hardly be of service to anyone if you are not fully trained in your own abilities. Go ahead and start." says Farad.

"Very well. My only problem is that I don't have enough money for the required donation. I will need 7,500 gold, and I only have 1,600 now. Perhaps if I could get a larger share of the proceeds from selling these items, I could repay the group from whatever future treasure I get. Would that be all right with the rest of you?"

"So, what do you want to try to sell?" asks Illyana.

Aldarin, "So my friend, what have you discovered about the items you have identified?"

"Its been a busy week." Farad drops the sack and pulls out some notes. "We've identified most everything. Those here in the bag are those I think we should sell." [marked with a *]

Humphrey looks at the Mallet,

"Well I am over 6'ft tall and consider myself to be very strong, therefore I would like to try my hands at the mallet.

"I would also be interested in the 12 arrows. I thought that there was some chain mail to be identified. I would also like the chain mail I am wearing identified as well as my sword and bow."

The mallet is just over 10' long and weighs about 100lb. Humphrey discovers that in spite of his size and his strength, he is still too shrimpy and too wimpy to heft it with any degree of effectiveness.

He takes the arrows.

Ayazin looks over the list. "I agree with what you've picked out to sell. I will add this scroll with the druid spell Charm Person or Mammal to the pile. I claimed it before, but I have decided I don't really need it."

He hands it over.

Sharone looks to Farad...'' You've done marvelously well !! But I'd like to keep the flail, I'm not into using those nasty sword thingies."

This is an additional flail to the one which Sharone has.

" Also can I recommend we keep the ' read magic ' scroll. Its handy to have, just in case we come across some strange writings. And generally magic users don't memorise it as a spell...? "

" By the way I've got this suit of chain that needs checking, can I leave it with you ? "

"As for training I need another month to complete the studies the church has laid out for me......is that okay ? " Sharone looks to the group.

"I think two more weeks will be sufficient for me," says Ayazin. "I think we should go ahead and sell these items and resume training today."

Aldarin adds, "We also have this cloak," pointing to the black leather one he is wearing, "to identify. I would like to carry the Scroll of Protection from Demons if no one else claims it."

He takes it.

Farad tries to identify the cloak Aldarin is wearing.

He learns that it protects the wearer.

Farad then falls asleep for eight hours.

Britan says" Well once we sell this stuff and or if I go up to the next level I will train I am a bugbear hair away from going up now anyway, I would like to go with who ever goes to sell the stuff if it is OK?"

"ZZZZZZZZZ" replies Farad.

"Well!" says Ayazin, "It seems like travel has taken its toll on our friend Farad. We could go ahead and sell these items without him, but I believe he wanted to speak with Ray Jay, so perhaps we should let him sleep through the day and visit the tower when he wakes up."

It is late afternoon before the elf awakens again.

After Farad wakes up, Humphrey says, "Here's what I have that needs to be identified.

Long Bow Chain Mail Short Sword"

Thanks Farad"

Sharone takes the 'spare' flail " I'll trust you guys to sell the rest, I'll get back into my training. It looks like I'm going to need the most time so I'll get on with it "

She bids the group goodbye until the next meeting, and leaves.

Britan looks at Farad and says " Welcome back sleepy head, feel better now? anyway what time would you like to go to Ray Jays and sell this stuff?"

"Identifying magic items is quite draining, but I'm ready now."

Ayazin accompanies Farad and the others to Ray Jay's to sell the items.

They depart.

You head across the street to Ray Jay's tower. Farad knocks on the door, and after a moment, Ming opens it.

"Ahhh...hello there, Illyana!" says the half elf, regarding the girl with obvious pleasure. "And the rest of you, as well. Have you some items to sell?" he asks, noticing Farad's sack.

"Hello Ming. Yes, we do have some things to sell. Would Ray Jay be willing to part with something minor, despite her desire not to sell anything?" asks Illyana.

"Well..." he says to her, "Why don't we go into my sitting room to talk about it..?"

Ayazin butts in, "Why, thank you, Ming, we'd all be delighted to join you in your sitting room and discuss a great many things. I, for one, would like to hear more about the party that has turned to evil. Frankly, Ray Jay just intimidates me, and I'd much rather talk to you. Um, no offense, Ray Jay, if you can hear me!" he calls out to the air around him.

Britan Bows to Ming and says " I think The Majority will agree to that I know I would." <with a smile>

"Errr...yes," says Ming, looking irked. "Come on in, then, the lot of you."

He leads you into his sitting room, and seats you under his legendary chandelier in an assortment of sofas and chairs.

"Now, what was it you wanted?" he asks brusquely.

Illyana blinks. "Wasn't Ray Jay the one who sells magic items?"

"We are no longer selling magic. Master has other uses for them."

"Aside from sales of magic items, and since Azayin brought it up, I am looking for information about the party lead by Karden the ranger and why they decided to work for an evil temple." says Illyana.

"Kardin? Who's that?"

"Oh drat, I may have messed the name up. Wasn't there once a group working for Ray Jay which switched sides and now has a bounty on their heads?"

"Oh yes, my dear, them," Ming says. "I told you a few weeks back that warrants had been issued. I guess I forgot to tell you that they were dropped back in July. Sorry about that."

"What? Was it a misunderstanding or something?"

"You could say so...but keep it under your hat, will you?"

Britan nods but says nothing, keeping his comments to himself.

Illyana shrugs. "Whatever."

"So. What have you to sell, then? Farad?" says Ming.

Farad pulls out several items from the bag.

"I believe we were selling only the following for now:

ring mail D +1

potion: poison

scroll: protection from lycanthropes.

scroll: protection from all lycanthropes.

mallet: need large strong person to wield

leather armour E: +1

scroll: (druidical) Charm Person or mammal"

Britan eyes the equipment and says, " That looks to be about it unless you then Mctavish may want the Ring Mail."

"What did you say?" wonders Ming.

Ayazin looks the leather armor in the pile as if he hadn't noticed it there before. He clears his throat. "Ahem, I hope you don't think it's too late to say this, but I was wondering if that suit of leather armor might fit me. I'm slightly bigger than your average elf, but if it does I would certainly be interested in it."

The half elf tries it on...and it is a lovely fit!

Ming inspects the other items:

ring mail D +1 - 1200gp

potion: poison - 0gp

scroll: protection from lycanthropes. - 1500gp

scroll: protection from all lycanthropes. - 1500gp

mallet: need large strong person to wield - 3500gp

scroll: (druidical) Charm Person or mammal" - 300gp

"Is it a deal?" he asks.

"Sure. We wouldn't normally bother you with such a small transaction, but some members of our party needed us to obtain the gold to pay for training."

Ming pays you in platinum.

"Hardly enough to split, but when we get back together we will." says Farad.

Ayazin humbly claims the leather armor +1, apologizing for his lateness. Ming's terms are fine with him.

Taking the money, you leave Ray Jay's tower.

"Since we've been busy identifying left and right, can someone identify my armor and sword? It isn't totally necessary, but I'd like to know." requests Illyana.

After the haggling is done Britan says, " If someone would not mind Identifing this plate Armor and Military Pick I would be willing to pay to have this done while I am in training?"

You take whatever things people want identified and go your separate ways.
