The EARTH story - Sunsebb 15, 583

The next day dawns sunny and hot again, but Ayazin predicts that there will be a heavy rainstorm by midafternoon. You again set out soon after dawn. The temperature again soars into the 90s, and you are all glad that you brought along appropriate desert garb. By midmorning the last vestiges of the scrubby grasslands of the Abbor Alz have been left behind, and you have entered the Bright Desert: an arid land of bare yellow earth, parched hills, cactus and tumbleweed.

The trail continues to follow the coastline.

By noontime the clouds are starting to build, providing some relief from the heat. Two hours later you are caught in a drenching rainstorm, forcing you to seek higher ground or else risk being caught in a flash flood. You make no more progress today, even though the rain ends after two hours. Many previously dry parts of the road are now fast-flowing rivers.

At least you were able to top up your water supply again, for you have not seen a stream since yesterday.

You pitch your tents and make camp.
