December 28, 2006 at the Denfield siding west of London Ontario. A westbound CP freight climbs the hill out of London, slows, and comes to a stop just east of the east end of Lobo siding. It turned out that its end-of-train (EOT) device was malfunctioning. A following westbound was bringing out a replacement EOT. It stopped behind the lead freight and its crew replaced the defective unit.
After about 30 minutes the lead freight began to move foreward, as an approaching eastbound freight neared the west end of Lobo siding.
Following close behind the lead westbound comes the following westbound.
The two westbounds stay on the main as they pass the switch.
As the two westbounds stop again the eastbound freight rolls into view and then stops. The lead westbound - out of sight - starts rolling again. Soon after the following westbound moves as well.
Once the following westbound has cleared the switch a crewman from the eastbound climbs down and throws it, and as the eastbound starts moving again he climbs back aboard.
