Suddenly, as you are settling down to a dinner of iron rations, the swamp around you seems to explode with giant frogs! Actually, you realise, there are only a dozen of them, but they do make a dramatic entrance, as they launch themselves out of the water and muck at you, ribbiting in a most aggressive fashion. It seems that you have violated a place which they hold sacred, and they intend to make you pay.
Equinox, having no particular affinity for the creatures of hell, throws the six darts that "increase the likelihood of hitting the target" and tries to stay out of the close combat. If he must close in close combat, he wields MC Hammer.
Niko forks a lightning bolt at two of them in the front, hoping they'll hit other behind them.
Occa will let the fighters take care of the froggy menance until they prove to be more than they can handle.
"Hmm," Gilstrock says. "Frogs legs for dinner?"
He draws Thawbreaker and looks threateningly at the frogs. "Shoo! Go away!" he says. He will defend himself and return the attack if any of the frogs attack him.
Varlen prepares to defend himself with his silver quarterstaff.
Darian draws his frostbrand and meets one of the frog's attacks.
With the Claw of Horus in hand, Al swings twice at the nearest frog.
Gonzo grins an ugly dwarvish grin and pulls his weapons... "KARUMBA!!!! Me gets da leggin."
He will then launch himself at the closest target not already engaged.
Emm draws Bubba and readies his shield. He takes a defensive stand. "You still with me pal," Emm asks. "Cause if we're attacked, I'll be needing you."
"I'm here, you bet!"
A general melee erupts.
Al is attacked by two frogs. He kills one handily. The other misses him.
Equinox gets one dart thrown before a frog bounces off of him without doing damage.
Niko crackles off a lightning bolt, sizzling two frogs.
Gilstrock swings his sword, making a quick mess of an incoming frog.
Beside him, Emm fans badly, and is clawed for a hit point of damage.
Occa is narrowly missed by an incoming frog, which then proceeds to chase the mighty arch-mage around the hillock.
Another frog lands at Gonzo's feet, misses him with a claw, and is then toasted by the dwarf's frost brand.
Darian guts a frog in mid-air.
Varlen is clawed for 2 hit points, as he whacks the offending frog with his stave, killing it.
Robert makes short work another frog.
Four frogs remain: on Equinox, Emm, Occa and Al.
Al quickly finishes off the frog on him.
"Yo!" says MC, as Equinox swings him. The druid misses, but so does the frog. Besuide him, Niko steps in and helps. The frog dies.
Emm misses a second time, as he dances around the frog on him.
Occa runs by, as the frog pursuing him leaps, biting him on the buttocks for 2 hit points and hanging on. Tracey laughs at the sight.
Gonzo appears, though, and kills the frog, scorching Occa a bit in the process with his flame tongue.
Darian helps out Emm, and the last frog is quickly laid to rest.
The rest of the night is uneventful.
