Less than two hours later you arrive at a fork in the river, and there on the promontory separating the streams is Castle Koozle. You remember it now: the ruin of a small walled castle with a keep, built long ago by refugees fleeing the War Of The Stones to the east.
The streams are shallow here, so it is no problem for the party to wade across. On the other side the ruin towers above you. As you recall, you arrived here to adventure in the dungeon in June 1358, and tarried here for almost a year before moving north and east, ultimately ending up at the Tomb of Melnar. At that time the ruins were the lair of three shambling mounds, who put up a strong fight before being dispatched.
Now, as you cautiously explore the ruins, though, all is silent. No creatures live up here, you realize, though the numbers of tracks about here indicate that there is a good population of monsters about. Op Code follows them, and of course they lead to the inevitable flight of stairs going down into darkness.
You set up camp a short distance away, in the same place where you stayed 12 years earlier. It is relatively dry and defensible. There, as the afternoon darkens into evening, you sit around the campfire, sing bawdy songs, and hunt through the dungeon file until you come across your old maps of this dungeon. Lit by the flickering flames, you peruse them, and make plans for your assault on this bastion of evil.
