April 14th is cooler but sunny, and another very pleasant day for riding. You make excellent time, as the road swings in a gentle eastward curve around the west flank of the Galdan Hills. As evening approaches you come to an intersection with a trail heading roughly east, and climbing up the westernmost of the Hills. There is no signpost, but following the trail with your eyes you see that it leads to what can only be a tower encircled by a stone wall, standing on a stony ridge some miles away.
Surely, this is your objective.
You turn onto the trail and ride east.
