My name is Keith Bilafer and I am 27. I work as a release engineer/ junior network engineer for Cisco Systems.
I grew up Connecticut and went to school at RPI in Troy, NY. This is where I met my fiance'. We've been dating for 4 1/2 years and have been engaged for almost three years. We are planning on getting married July 1, 1995 if we can pay for it. We've moved about Massachussets and New Hampshire for the past 2 1/2 years while I switched jobs. In 1993, we bought a new home in Methuen, MA and we've been fairly stable until just recently.
I've been playing D&D since the basic set came out. I honestly can't remember the year but using subtraction it seems like it must have been 1978. I played with friends throughout junior high and even high school. We also played Gamma World, Champions and RuneQuest but we enjoyed creating our own modules for D&D the most. I haven't played any D&D face to face since high school, but I have belonged to groups that played Traveller (email within DEC but we had a few live sessions to spice things up) and RoleMaster. Since then, I've played in about 5 email campaigns and this has been the most lively group.
In 1980 or so I started a group up of my own friends. I usually DM'd. At this time I developed a nice world of my own, complete with a nice history dating back to its founding (colonized world).
In 88 I graduated from High School and pretty much stopped playing with my friends as I moved to Atlanta. At this time I started my first email game. It was DM'd by a Norwegian (Wow, you mean I can talk to people in other countries using email and irc?!!!) That lasted exactly a year, as the next year he had to take a year of civil service (evidently a requirement) The next year I tried to DM an adventure of my own. It died however about 9 months later because everyone left for vacation. The next year I again joined up with my Norwegian friend as he started another AD&D email game. This one was my first combatitive one, as each player's job was to kill all the other players. Didn't win though... I dropped out of email games for a while to play role playing in another way, helping to start TrekTNG MUSE and playing constantly there for a long time.
Thats pretty much all my gaming history till now. I'm married (April, 1992) with no kids and no plans for any. I work at Emory University and go to school part time. My main interests other than gaming include reading, computers, and hiking and biking.
