Tyr appears as a powerful looking man who has lost his right hand.

On Earth, all places of battle are considered holy by worshippers of Tyr, and his followers often make pilgrimages to battle grounds. Five fields of battle, though, are considered to be especially holy to his followers. The most devout of these will endeavour to visit and pay homage at each site, and perhaps receive a special reward from Tyr for doing so. Doing this is no easy task, for many of the five battlegounds are in what are now evil, wild and dangerous areas.

The Five Sites are:

1. Su El. Also known as The Arrival Mountain, it is the site where the men who would found the Three Empires of Saltar, Seasham and Calacoon first set foot when they returned to Earth, and were set upon by the Barbarians of the North. It is located to the north of Nlad, between the Mississippi and Canabar Rivers.

2. The Enchanted Valley. Here a great battle was fought in the year 72,001 of the Second Age, pitting the Men of Saltar, the Elves of Aldacan and Dorian, and the Wizards of the North, against the wild men of Mestom. It is located to the west of Nlad, and south of Aldacan.

3. Lake Ringdoom. Site of the greatest battle on Earth of the War of the Liferights Vs. the Deathrights. Little is known of this war, for it occurred during the dark age which preceded the arrival of the Elves on Earth, when little history was recorded. However, the area surrounding the lake was devastated by the forces unleashed during this battle, and the region still bears the scars of the conflict.

4. The Tower of Bludor. In the year 500 of the Third Age, internal strife gripped the Empire of Saltar. This was the founding of the Kingdom of Nlad. Seeing their chance, the orcs in the far north region of Bludor rose up and marched on Saltar. A great battle was fought at the Tower of Bludor, which guarded the northern border of Saltar. The men of Saltar were defeated, their northern realms laid to waste, and the fell orc-kingdom of Urguth, with its seat of power in the Tower, was founded. It is said that the orcs disgusting god - He-Who-Watches - is a frequent visitor to the Towers now befouled halls.

5. Grador El. In 610 of the Third Age Imrimil the Witchlord was cast out of the Witch's Dale. Like a whirlwind he and his armies stormed the rich Saltarian province of Nolthen, and a great battle was fought upon the slopes of Grador El, culminating in the seige of the Tower of Grador. Imrimil was the victor, and claimed the ancient Tower as his stronghold, renaming the peak Cloudy Mountain. Much of what remained of Saltar was abandoned after the loss of Nolthen, and the lands have been reverting to wilderness ever since.
