The Inn of the Drunken Dwarf is busy tonight.
Luthus has hired a new serving wench, a striking looking brunette in an outfit that makes you wonder how he supplements his business. She laughs merrily as she makes her way around the room serving meals and beverages.
She approaches to take your order but drops her serving tray upon seeing the masked elf. She quickly retrieves her tray and all but runs into the kitchen, the order untaken.
For all that, she bears a striking resemblance to the fortune teller who was here several nights ago...
"Damn, not again," he says as he leaps up and chases after her. "Wait up, I need to talk to you." he says as he runs after her.
Agulhas jumps slightly at the drop of the tray. After the wench runs off, he looks to the newest member of the party.
"I thought you removed that mask for good?" he questions the man. He shrugs. "Any reason you know as to why she'd react that way to you?"
Sasha looks at Logan with a raised brow. "You have an interesting appeal to the wench. Guess even without the mask you made an impression."
"I'll answer you when I get back," he says as he leaps after the woman.
Kailar excuses himself to go to the outhouse.
She is trying to make her way through the kitchen to the open door on the other side of the room, but is being hampered by all the activity of the busy kitchen staff.
"Why do you keep after me ... I can't help you ... " she calls out to him, making a leap for the open door. She trips and falls heavily, her head hitting the stone floor with a rather a loud thud.
Logan checks to make sure she is still breathing and alive.
"Just be quiet and let a master do his work," he barks and then winks at her as he covers her eyes with his hand.
"Quiet!" he barks again and then picks her up and cradles her in his arms.
"By the gods, the foolish girl," he cries as he rushes out the back.
Equinox says, "What is Kadlian's deity?"
Hlarn puzzles a bit. "I do not know if he has ever said outright who he worships. Probably one of the elvish dieties."
"Well, I was only asking because if any of Kadlian followers are Druid worshipers of Thor, and need training, I would be happy to provide it. Does anyone know where Kadlian is right now? I could go to him."
After a bit, Rage wanders in.
It is early evening.
Rage joins her assembled collegues.
"Is all well in the keep now Hlarn? Did you destroy the golem? And Kailar, any luck with the dragon?"
"I decided to let him keep the money. He needs to build his hoard back up anyway," the gnome replies.
Hlarn nods. "The golem was almost too easy. The new hammer worked wonderfully. Nothing of value was hidden behind that door he guarded. I'll let Kailar tell you about the dragon. I don't know what he did with that."
The dwarf pauses. "If possible Rage, Kadlian requests for you to teleport to his location. Apparently he's picked up some henchmen, more elves, all of low skill, and would like for you to take them under your wing and make sure they are prepared with the proper spells. I was thinking you could take Logan with you, and perhaps visit the pools and what not. Our fame is spreading and people are wanting to be associated with us, but I don't want to take unskilled wide eyed novices into danger."
Rage rolls her eyes.
"Rage's taxi service ... " the mage mutters.
Hlarn laughs. "With great power comes great responsibility!"
"Indeed," the mage says coldly. "I guess I will prepare for this adventure later, I will need to check his location with the crystal ball and then teleport there. What is the plan after that?" the mage asks. "I guess I am confused. I was supposed to look in on Sian and teleport to his location so in the future I can get there and send him there as well. What are the rest of you doing?"
Hlarn shrugs. "Check on Sian first. If he's finished, take him with you to Kadlian. That way at least we'll know of his progress. I think Sian is currently the one we are waiting upon."
"Very well. In the morning, I will locate Sian by crystal ball and teleport to his location. Then I check with him and return here. After that, I will go to Kadlain until it is time to get Sian. Then back here to get you lot." Rage shakes her head, "I need a travel agent."
"Once everyone is finished training then we can start on this adventure. Most of the rest of us are twiddling our fingers."
Hlarn gives her the rest of the news. "Zanax should be back here in a week or so. Sian I believe is still training. Hopefully Furgh will also be finished about that time. I've been sitting idle for too long."
Agulhas approaches Rage. "I've been thinking. It would be of great benefit to this party, and to you, I dare say, to have two mages capable of using teleport magics. I have the spell scribed and I do understand it, but I do not yet command enough power to cast it.
"However, here is my plan. If you would train me to the eighth order of power, I could then visit the wall (or is it the pool?) that increases one's level of skill. If you recall, I forwent that 'gift' earlier to much discord. Despite my moral qualms, I think the benefit to the party outweighs my feelings on the matter.
"The bottom line, two mages who can cast teleport in a matter of a week."
Rage smiles a coy smile at Argulhas. "Excellent my dear Argulhas. We will begin immediately. No time to waste. I will have to tell Kaldian. Let us go to the guild and use their facilities for the next two weeks and soon enough you too will be casting teleport."
Hlarn nods. "Fetch his other pupils first... No need to waste training time. While you train Agulhas you can also train them, or at least make sure they have the spells they need. And once Agulhas is ready to go around via the pools, you can take them too."
Hlarn smiles at Agulhas. "I'm glad you changed your mind... and you did it at a perfect time also, when using it will most enhance your magics because you had just trained."
Hlarn pauses. "I wonder if we can obtain a portable hole in two weeks. Occa owes us for those bracers, and might have a spare we can use or purchase. A lot easier than taking us two at a time or reducing us first. Kailar, would you be so good as to try and scry for the Arch Mage? If you can't find him, I'll see if Ray Jay knows his whereabouts."
"Of course."
Kailar scrys for Occa.
He is unable to form an image in the crystal ball.
About a half an hour after rage shows up, Logan returns, carrying the woman whom he chased out of the inn awhile ago. She looks to be unconscious.
The rest of the evening passes quietly.
