Again, the day's walk is uneventful. You continue to follow the curve of the mountains, and by nightfall you are heading south.
Again, the night passes quietly.
Kadlian sighs and looks wistfully north. "I wish I knew what happened to Furgh. And I wish we could have done something for the others. When we catch up to Hlarn and get in touch with Rage, we may have more options..."
Kadlian looks around the area. "Every chance we get, we should try to head southeast."
The mountains form an effective barrier in that direction.
Kadlian looks over at Birch, Vanadil and the Treants. "Any of you have any suggestions on what we should do? Keep moving south?"
"Have you checked the map?" asks Birch.
Kadlian nods. "I have. Problem is, I do not know where we are. It makes it difficult to figure out where to go when you do not know where you are..."
"We haven't seen anything like this rift place yet, so we may as well keep going."
"Unless you want to stop and wait for Sian and the others?" asks Vanadil.
Kadlian looks up in surprise. "What makes you think they are behind us? I had assumed that they were ahead of us."
"How would they be ahead of us? They took off to go trolling."
"True. But, Rage can teleport. And they have the crystal ball. I figured she would be able to find Hlarn and teleport to him. Unless, of course, they are caught in the same no teleport zone we were in."
Vanadil nods.
"Didn't think of that," she says.
Kadlian shrugs. "I do not know that they are ahead of us. Tell you what. Let us find someplace easily defended and we will wait a few days. If no one comes along, we will continue our trek south. Sound fair? That will also give Furgh an opportunity to catch up with us, should he still be alive."
They nod.
Kadlian nods back. "Good. Let us make camp for the night and tomorrow morning we start looking for a spot that gives us a good view in just about every direction while providing us some sort of camouflage."
